Reports about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson possibly remarrying may have been all over the news these days, but a throwback interview of Prince Andrew reveals that he does not have any plans of remarrying his ex-wife.
Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are dubbed as the happiest divorced couple in the world because of their weird setup. After their split, Fergie left their residence but lived under the same roof as her ex-husband and children just a few years later. Lately, Fergie has been attending royal events with Prince Andrew, and royal followers can’t help but speculate that they’re romantically involved with each other again.
Because the ex-couple now seems closer to each other than ever, many believe that their remarriage is not far from happening. Prince Andrew and Fergie have transitioned from husband and wife to close friends, and their public appearances over the last few years suggest that their relationship has only strengthened through time.
Just last April, a royal editor revealed on Twitter that following their weekend visit to Bahrain, Prince Andrew and Fergie were able to prove that their relationship was 100 percent “back on.” “Royal relationship back on,” he wrote on Twitter. “Prince Andrew and Fergie back together more than 20 years after they divorced.”
The tweet instigated a series of reports claiming that Prince Andrew and Fergie are back together and might already be secretly engaged. However, it looks like those are nothing but rumors. After the Duchess of York was spotted recently with a mystery man in Italy, an old interview of Prince Andrew resurfaced earlier this week, showing the Duke of York explaining why he would not remarry Fergie.
Asked if he would ever remarry Fergie, Prince Andrew said no. “We are both in a better place,” he said. “It’s because we are in a better place which is probably why we are able to remain such close friends. We have two great kids. We do things together as a family,” he added.
Although it looks like Prince Andrew and Fergie can be husband and wife again, for the Duke of York, they are better off as friends. He loves the fact that even though they’re already a divorced couple, they have managed to be on the same page when it comes to parenting their children, princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
