Even though Prince Royce and Emeraude Toubia have been an item for a few years now, the couple has plead the fifth when it comes to publicly talking about their relationship.

“Prince is a guy that I admire and care for very much. We all know that his girlfriends are his beautiful fans,” the 27-year-old actress told People En Español in 2013.

Fast forward three years later, and Royce and Toubia are finally opening up about how they met, how long they’ve been officially together, and their opinion on the many chismes the press has infested their relationship with in the past couple of years.

“We met at a restaurant with other friends a long time ago,” the singer said during an interview with Univision’s “Sal y Pimienta before the “Shadowhunters” star interrupted him by saying, “He wanted to meet another girl, but I got there first!”

Royce, who didn’t deny that he was attending the event that day because he was interested in meeting a different girl, added, “And that is the story.”

The bachatero and the Mexican-American actress have been very private about their romance throughout the years, but they haven’t necessarily been hiding it. The Latino power couple has walked several red carpets together, including the one at the Latin Grammy Awards last November.

“As an artist, as a public figure, it is good to have your life personal, in everything,” Royce said during an interview with TVyNovelas. “I feel like sometimes we hear rumors, are they dating, did they break up…and to us it has always been important to keep everything private.”

On the other hand, Emeraude assures she has never been bothered by the rumors and explains she is confident enough in her relationship to let it all slide.

“Honestly, what everyone else thinks should not affect us as on a personal level. Everyone has to be happy with themselves, and if you have that, you have it all,” she told the publication.
