Princess Eugenie on Tuesday involved her first son to announce that she is expecting her second child with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, shared a photograph on Instagram of her son, August, kissing her baby bump.
The 32-year-old captioned the adorable photo with the toddler, "We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer." Her comments section was quickly flooded with congratulations and well wishes, with her mom saying that she is in "Granny heaven."
According to The Sun, Buckingham Palace also said that Princess Eugenie and her husband were "pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer." The Palace further said that the British Royal Family members were delighted and "August is very much looking forward to being a big brother."
This comes just a few weeks before Eugenie and her husband are set to celebrate their son's second birthday. The boy was born at the Portland Hospital on Feb. 9, 2021, reported Hello! magazine. August was delivered by caesarean section due to the Princess's childhood scoliosis operation on her spine. Eugenie recently shared how becoming a mother had made her to make some big changes in her life. Some of the changes involved her family's shocking move to Portugal.
According to Mirror, the new royal baby, the first born since Queen Elizabeth died last year, will be 13th in line to the throne. He or she will follow their older brother August, and will be a third grandchild for Eugenie's parents. While Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice have Her or Her Royal Highness titles, the new baby will not as the little one will be too far down the line of succession.
The new baby will see other members of the British Royal Family being bumped down the list. It includes Prince Edward and his children Viscount Severn and Lady Louise, and Princess Anne. At present, they occupy spots 13, 14, 15, and 16, respectively. The Tindall family (Mike Tindall is married to Zara Phillips, the daughter of Princess Anne) will also drop further down the list, but it's unlikely to be something that they are bothered about.
