Queen Elizabeth II reportedly isn’t very close with both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. Over the years, the monarch is said to have become close with one royal member of the family, and she apparently treats her like a daughter.

Prince Edward’s wife Sophie Wessex is said to close to the Queen in a way that Middleton and Markle aren’t, Express reported. The hint about their close relationship came when the Countess helped smooth a Tartan blanket on the monarch’s lap.

The close relationship of the two royals was also confirmed by aides. One of the royal aides said that the Queen trusts and relies on Wessex more than Middleton and Markle.

The relationship of the two women grew over the years, and now Wessex is an important part of the Queen’s life. The Countess reportedly has filled the gap the monarch felt after losing her sister, and she is now said to be like the sovereign’s daughter.

Why does the Queen like Wessex so much? It reportedly has something to do with her dedication to her marriage and the efforts she put in to be accepted as a part of the royal family.

Wessex learnt how to ride a horse properly, to shoot game, fish, and she can also drive a carriage. This and her shared passion for military history has helped the two women to bond. The Queen reportedly talks to the Countess the way she used to talk to Princess Margaret.

Although the Queen is close to Wessex, it doesn’t mean that her relationship with the other women in the royal family is bad. According to Express, a royal expert has claimed that the monarch is increasingly treating Middleton as both a friend and a daughter-in-law. The monarch reportedly appreciates how Prince William’s wife integrated herself into the family with little disruption.
