The Queen Thinks Meghan Markle Should Spend Less Time With Kate Middleton

Surpassing the state retirement age, Queen Elizabeth II is still going strong. She has a large family, and just like us commoners, some members are closer to her than others. If reports are to be believed, then despite being the nation's darling, it's not Kate Middleton that the Queen prefers. Yes, you guessed it right, its Meghan Markle!

It is believed that the Queen shares a warm relationship with Markle because she "makes her laugh." Also, they bonded rather quickly. However, when Kate was dating Prince William, the Queen "steered clear" of meeting her. In fact, it was after five long years since the couple had started dating that the Queen decided to meet Kate.

The editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, said, "The Queen admires Kate tremendously but does not have an intimate relationship with her as they don't have much in common." Seward further added, "I think the Queen and Kate have a more serious relationship as obviously, Kate holds all the Queen's hope for the future, and she would not want to do anything to upset that."

We all know that Prince William met Middleton when they were both studying at St. Andrews University. But, after being together for four years, the couple took a little time off of their relationship. If sources are to be believed then at that time, Prince William was a bit confused and unsure about Middleton and shared his feeling with his beloved grandmother. However, the couple got together later, and the Queen waited for a year after that to meet Kate.

Today, it is believed that the Duchess of Sussex shares a warm bond with the Queen now and not just a formal one. But, it's different with Markle. However, if you are wondering who the Queen's favorite is, then it is not Meghan either. The Queen is believed to be closest to her daughter-in-law, Sophie, Countess of Wessex. In fact, she is such a fan of Sophie that she advised Markle to use her as a mentor.

Sophie and Meghan have spent a lot of time together and get along impeccably. And, the Queen favors the idea of Sophie acting as an unofficial mentor to Markle.
