Republican Rep. Andy Ogles said New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani could be deported if he "fudged on his immigration forms."

Ogles made the statement while claiming that, if President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful" bill ends up passing in the Lower House, ICE will unlock some $175 billion to continue enforcing its mass deportation operation.

"Now, ICE is gonna have the personnel and resources to come into cities like Nashville, Chicago, L.A., New York and deport people. Not to shift topic but if Zohran fudged on his immigration forms, we may very well be deporting him. Time will tell," Ogles said in an interview on The Benny Show.

Ogles has already called for the deportation of Mamdani in the past. Last week he said he was imploring Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to investigate Mamdani.

"Zohran 'little muhammad' Mamdani is an antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy the great City of New York. He needs to be DEPORTED. Which is why I am calling for him to be subject to denaturalization proceedings," Ogles said in a post.

The lawmaker also included the letter he sent Bondi, in which he insisted that Mamdani has expressed "open solidarity" with a group that previously aided Hamas, the militant group responsible for the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that killed more than 1,200 people.

Ogles cited a New York Post article which claimed Mamdani had rapped about the Holy Land Foundation in 2017. Although Ogles acknowledged that citing rap lyrics may anger some First Amendment hardliners, he argued that "speech alone does not preclude accountability where it reasonably suggests underlying conduct relevant to eligibility for naturalization."

The representative also claimed that Mamdani "recently rejected opportunities to reject the pro-terrorist rallying cry to 'globalize the intifada.'"

Several Republicans have criticized Mamdani since his victory in the Democratic primaries, Donald Trump among them. On Wednesday the president called Mamdani a "communist lunatic" and vowed to prevent him from "destroying" the city.

"As President of the United States, I'm not going to let this Communist Lunatic destroy New York. Rest assured, I hold all the levers, and have all the cards. I'll save New York City, and make it "Hot" and "Great" again, just like I did with the Good Ol' USA!" Trump said in a publication on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday. On Tuesday, he said the Democratic candidate will be arrested if he seeks to prevent ICE officials from making arrests in the city.
