A ricin-laced letter has been sent to Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C., according to breaking reports from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. Chris Moody of Yahoo! News tweeted the report, which was reaffirmed in a tweet by FOX's Chad Pergram, the news network's producer on Capitol Hill.
"We've had another [ricin] incident today at Bolling AFB...We'll see...I can't give any more details on ricin at Bolling," Reid told Pergram. The Bolling Air Force Base is located in Anacostia along DC Route 295, a continuation of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. The "Baltwash" is a major commuter highway for Beltway workers, but there is no report as to whether the highway or the surrounding arteries of South Capitol Street or the Suitland Parkway will be affected by the reported ricin letter at Bolling AFB.
The report of ricin letters being sent to Bolling comes only days after Paul Kevin Curtis, an Elvis Presley impersonator, was accused of sending similarly caustic material to Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss. and President Barack Obama.
