Race fans rejoice: "Rush" comes to theaters nationwide this Friday. Could you use something to take the edge off of all this excitement? You can now listen to the new "Rush" soundtrack online!

"Rush" depicts the sport of Formula 1 in 1976, the height of a wild era when motoring racing was dangerous and people thought sex was safe. More specifically, the movie is told through the eyes of two protagonists -- McLaren's James Hunt was the fan's favorite badass while young Niki Lauda was Scuderia Ferrari's fastest ace. Together, they were the two most talented drivers on the planet.

The notorious Nurburgring circuit claimed the lives of many and during the rainy German Grand Prix of 1976, it nearly claimed the life of one more. Niki Laudi lost control of his Ferrari over the wet surfaced and crashed against a barrier. Lauda was trapped inside his car for nearly a minute before he was pulled from the wreck. Not only did the devastating fire nearly burn off all his skin, but his condition was so serious that a priest was even called to give the last rites.

Remarkably, Lauda recovered, got out of his bed, signed a release from the hospital, and returned home. Six weeks later, Lauda was behind the wheel of a Ferrari once again to race at Monza. At the end, Lauda made an enormous statement by finishing in the top 5.

"I remember hiding in my own house because there were photographers surrounding the place who wanted the first picture of me looking like this," Lauda, now 64, said in an interview last week, gesturing to his still badly scarred face and ear. "But I had a bigger decision: Do I want to race or not? And I put a record on, and then I went down to the lake where I had a nice view, and I said, 'This is the prime of my life, and thank God I'm alive and not dead. So yes, I'm going to race.'"

Niki Lauda was regarded as the more cunning driver that applied discipline and pragmatism. On the other hand, James Hunt was a loose cannon that enjoyed alcohol and women. Hunt won his races by unleashing his pure talent and sheer will. Actors Daniel Bruhl and Chris Hemsworth play the two drivers with extremely high levels of intensity.

The new "Rush" sountrack is created by the highly acclaimed Academy Award-winning music composer Hans Zimmer. The excitment of the two rivaling characters, the danger of the sport, and the recklessness of the era are perfectly expressed in these incredibly dynamic scores.
