Miami Heat, two-time NBA champions, are taking on the San Antonio Spurs tonight in the NBA Finals. The two teams are reigniting the duel which last year went to the Heat in the seventh game, but with the home-town advantage for the Spurs, things could be very different. The incredible match up is also bringing to the court a whole constellation of stars like Lebron James, Tim Duncan, Dwayne Wade, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Chris Bosh.
The Miami Heat, facing its fourth consecutive finals, faces the challenge of winning their third successive championship ring, a feat no team has achieved since the Los Angeles Lakers of Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant from 2000-2002. However, the Miami Heat will face a tough battle against an opponent eager for revenge, who lost late last year after dominating 3-2. The last two wins for the Heat, tucked safely in the American Airlines Arena, caused San Antonio to lose the championship after winning the previous four battles (1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007).
This time the advantage is with the Texans, who finished the regular season as the best team in the entire NBA with a record of 60-22, eight more than their opponent. However, Miami, and especially LeBron James, have woken up to this moment of truth, giving up just three defeats in their journey. Today's exciting NBA match up takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas with a start time of 9 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on TV on the ABC.
