French media is shutting down a wave of social media rumors claiming President Emmanuel Macron was caught with a bag of cocaine during a recent train ride to Ukraine.

The moment, filmed as reporters entered a train cabin where Macron was meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, has gone viral, with users speculating that Macron grabbed a suspicious white packet and Merz was holding a cocaine spoon or straw.

French newspaper Libération pushed back, calling the claims baseless. The publication says Macron was simply holding a handkerchief and that Merz had a drink stirrer — not drug paraphernalia. Anything else, they say, is pure "conspiracy theory."

The video, recorded during the trio's overnight journey from Poland into Ukraine, has spread rapidly across platforms like X and TikTok, racking up millions of views and spawning memes, mock investigations, and political jabs.

Despite the growing attention, the Élysée Palace has not commented, and neither the German nor British governments have addressed the rumors. With no official response and no clear evidence, the video continues to stir speculation online.
