Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes almost confirmed their rumored relationship at the VMAs 2019. Almost because even though they were certainly looking and touching each other as if they are together or at least exclusively dating, they did not kiss at the end of their "Senorita" performance. Instead, viewers at home and at the event - their co-artists, were left hanging.

Honestly though, they might not even need to kiss, or say the words --how they look at each other and touch one another during their performance, say it all. Their chemistry was just palpable onstage on Monday night, their co-artists were even fanning themselves watching them perform. As they sing their iconic song “Senorita," they piled it sexy moves and steamy looks, little touches here and there.

Several times during their performance, they even sung with their faces so close each other, their lips separated only by a mic. Even though that must have affected the audio, fans at home and at the event could not care less.

They were screaming at just how hot they looked so close to each other like that. Everyone thought the kiss would come at the end of the performance though, but everything culminated to just a cute nose rub and a hug.

The reactions were amusing, to say the least. Taylor Swift cannot stop grinning while fanning herself, Sophie Turner was nearly jumping up and down with Joe Jonas beside her, and Bebe Rexha was screaming.

Fans also tweeted that they nearly died watching the two work up the stage. Reactions were as if Cabello and Mendes already confirmed their relationship, but until words are said, nobody is still the wiser.

The rumors of them being in a relationship started only last month, but the two are friends for four years now, even before Cabello left her girl group Fifth Harmony.

“Senorita” is the second song they collaborated on. In November 2015, they released “I Know What You Did Last Summer," and yet dating rumors were not sparked. What was obvious is how much they enjoy working together and inspire each other.

Speaking with Elvis Duran in 2015, Cabello said, “As artists, we’re both so invested in what we sing about that that makes the whole experience so much more intense.” On the other hand, in an interview with Zane Lowe on May 2018, Mendes said Cabello inspires him.

“Oh my God, she is my favorite person in the whole world. I don’t think you’ll ever meet somebody who can feel emotion like her, in all aspects,” he said. “Her love for what she believed in was so powerful that it just kind of pushed me to like make an entire album out of inspiration of the one night,” he added.
