The widely popular "Super Smash Bros." for Wii U and 3DS title was only released a few months ago so it's easy to forget that both titles are still incomplete. The Wii U version has yet to receive Tournies, while both titles have yet to get the highly anticipated Mewtwo DLC. Well now we have some news regarding the release date. In a recent interview the games creator Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the Pokemon DLC will be "coming soon."

"About the delivery of Mewtwo that everyone is worrying about, it is pretty much done," said Sakurai. "As planned we are planning to release Mewtwo so wait until the announcement." He finished by saying, "We plan to release Mewtwo pretty soon."

Mewtwo will join many other characters from Nintendo's most popular franchises, including Mario, Fox, Link, Kirby, Samus and Pikachu. The games also feature non-playable Nintendo characters, With the addition of Mewtwo the games roster will go up to 52 playable characters for the Wii U and 3DS versions.

That DLC fighter will be free to gamers who register both versions on Club Nintendo by May 31st, before later going on sale. That 31st March registration deadline has always meant it's close, but it seems that the development of the fighter is progressing towards its final stages. In an appearance by Masahiro Sakurai in a YouTube video, he reportedly states that it's due very soon. Check out the interview with Sakurai below.
