President Donald Trump used his speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday to deliver a sharp warning to European allies, declaring that nations embracing immigration were on a path to ruin.
"It's time to end the failed experiment of open borders. You have to end it now. I can tell you, I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell," Trump said from the podium.

The remarks came as the General Assembly marked its 80th anniversary, with leaders gathered in New York to address global conflicts and international cooperation. Instead, Trump directed much of his speech toward immigration, boasting of his administration's policies on the U.S.-Mexico border.
"Once we started detaining and deporting everyone who crossed the border — and removing illegal aliens from the United States — they simply stopped coming," he said, characterizing the crackdown as a "humanitarian act."
Trump also criticized what he described as a "globalist migration agenda" and claimed his measures had saved lives by discouraging dangerous crossings.
Beyond immigration, Trump questioned the United Nations' effectiveness in resolving international crises, asserting that the body had "not even tried to help" in conflicts from Gaza to Ukraine. He also took aim at NATO allies and reiterated his demand for the release of hostages in Gaza.
The tone of his address contrasted with the message from Secretary General António Guterres, who in his opening remarks urged unity and diplomacy, saying, "People everywhere are demanding something better, and we owe them something deserving of their trust."
This is a developing story
