Entertainment Weekly has revealed some interesting details about the new Alexandrian characters coming in season six of "The Walking Dead." We got to see a few of them in the first promo trailer but now Showrunner Scott Gimple has shared new details on the characters with the news outlet.

First up is Ethan Embry, who plays Carter and according to Gimple is a mish-mash of different characters. “Ethan plays a combo of a few characters that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters," Gimple said. "He is an Alexandrian, and has been there the whole time, just quite busy.”

Next up is "Nurse Jackie's" Merritt Wever who is another Alexandrian and according to EW she will be playing Dr. Denise Cloyd, who has a vital role in the comics as a medic and surgeon.

Last but not least is Corey Hawkins who will portray Heath in season six of "TWD." The character was revealed months ago and Gimple loves what the actor has done to bring the skeptic, cynical character to life. Here's what the showrunner had to say about the Hawkins as Heath:

“[Corey’s] terrific and I’m so excited to see him bring Heath to life. It’s been fun and he dove in with both feet. He’s tough and skeptical when the cameras are rolling, and then when they’re off he’s just like a goofy fan. He’s really, really excited to be there.”

We can't wait to see these characters in action when "The Walking Dead" returns in October. But until that time check out these other 16 exciting details about the coming season:

1. Episode 1 & 2 details revealed - Details regarding the first two episodes of "The Walking Dead" have been revealed. Check them out below:

THE WALKING DEAD, Episode #601

Director: Greg Nicotero

Writers: Scott M. Gimple & Matthew Negrete

601 Outside Dates: 5/4-5/14

THE WALKING DEAD, Episode #602

Director: Jennifer Lynch

Writer: Seth Hoffman

602 Outside Dates: 5/15-5/27

It's not a surprise to see these writers and directors names on the first few episodes of season six of "The Walking Dead" as they all were heavily involved in season five. Gimple and Nicotero joined forces for the season five premiere, episode nine and the season five finale. Matthew Negrete has several "The Walking Dead" credits to his name, including "Spend," "Consumed" and "Slabtown" from season five. While Jennifer Lynch directed the very popular episode "Spend."

2. Will Glenn die? - Robert Kirkman recently spoke with AMC President Charlie Collier and Stephen Yeun (Glenn) at the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Show, where he got a chance to tease what's next for Rick and the gang.

Kirkman and Yeun briefly discussed the possibility of Glenn's death saying,

“The way that we make the show — the writers and everybody really want to focus on making things poignant and purposeful and meaningful,” Yeun said. “So if it were time for Glenn to go, then it’s probably going to be awesome.”

3. Will Jon Hamm play Negan? - At this point Hamm playing Negan is just speculation. It is just Hamm talking about how he met Robert Kirkman and how it would be cool to play Negan, who is one of the biggest bad guys in "The Walking Dead" graphic novels.

4. Future seasons planned - Executive producer David Alpert said the original comics have given the production crew enough ideas for Rick Grimes and company over the next seven years.

"I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what Season 10 is gonna be." Alpert told Indiewire. "We know where seasons 11 and 12 [will be]... we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we're lucky enough to get there."

5. Cast and crew tease season six - After the shows season five finale the showrunner Scott Gimple revealed in a note that the next season will be the biggest. The note read:

"Season 6 for a good while now, humans have been the bigger threat. At the start of our next season, that will change. I said the show reinvents itself every 8 eps, and we’re doing it again, friendos. Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live? Beyond answering those questions, we’re currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud, and scary."

Also in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter Reedus teased the wolves in season six saying,

"Terminus did horrible things behind the wall; they were a wimpy and in a cowardly way tricked people to going there and then they did their evil business once you got behind their walls. These guys are roamers and they seem like a whole bunch of Daryls gone south who have gone really bad and turned into wolves. They’re probably on the move; I don’t think they’re afraid to butcher people in front of people. They seem different than Terminus; Terminus was more cowardly. They would trick you into coming to Disneyland and then eat you."

6. Daryl's death - In the interview with the wrap Reedus was asked about his characters possible death, which he was not too excited about.

“I hope my character serves the story of the show. Nobody wants to go on the show, because it’s really fun,” Reedus said. “I think if they ever killed me on the show, I think I wouldn’t want to die. I’d just want to walk up a hill, and walk down a hill. And as I get to the top, a little puppy would come out of the woods and follow me up and over the hill.”

7. Daryl's sexuality - If you didn't know Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is based off the character Jesus from "The Walking Dead" comics and has been described as a "gay and badass." There were talks during season one that perhaps Daryl would follow that arc. Reedus said he was excited about the direction, although it ultimately did not happen. There is still a chance that perhaps it will someday be a thing and maybe we'll learn more about Darly's sexuality in the coming season.

8. Greg Nicotero teases the wolves - Talking to Melty, Greg Nicotero shared some details about the mysterious Wolves, a group of bandits that is just beyond Alexandria's walls. We're not far off from meeting them. Scroll down for some speculation on the new enemies based on the comics.

Here's Nicotero:

"We set up the Wolves in Episode 16. I love those characters. The fact that you have people that are basically utilizing the people that they kill as ammunition to build a zombie army? We see them in Episode Nine when they get to Noah's neighborhood and we see the 'Wolves not far' in the background, and when the W-man at the beginning says to Morgan, 'Well, we're going to take you, too, but you're not exactly going to be alive,' we realize through the course of the episode that they are setting booby traps everywhere so that they can take people's possessions and then use them as a means to build the walkers in the traps, so it's kind of a diabolical plan."

9. Release date revealed - During San Diego Comic-Con 2015 the release date for the walking dead was revealed. Mark your calendars as the hit zombie apocalypse series will arrive Oct. 11.

10. Is Eugene next to die? - Josh McDermitt and Michael Cudlitz may have leaked the next big character death in season six of AMC's "The Walking Dead." According to Undead Walking, McDermitt, who plays Eugene may have been killed off the show. When McDermitt tweeted about being off the show’s set due to other filming projects, Cudlitz replied to his co-star saying, "Enjoy, I had a blast working with you. (I did)…”

The past tense wording in the tweet definitely made it seem like Michael may have been saying goodbye to Josh. If Eugene does die in "The Walking Dead" season six, it wouldn't be the most shocking death. The character has had a love/hate relationship with fans although he has been changing for the better for the last few episodes in season five.

11. Heath has been cast - Corey Hawkins ("Straight Outta Compton") has joined the cast as Heath. Heath runs supplies in the Alexandria Safe Zone, and first appeared in "The Walking Dead" graphic novel #69. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news. Hawkins is the first confirmed casting for season 6.

12. 4 new characters revealed - Spoil the Dead has shared some interesting details regarding at least two of the coming characters. Check out what the website had to say about Kirk and Hilda below:

"[KIRK] Male, Mid 20s to 30. Just a couple years ago, he was a young, blue collar everyman from a small town, who worked a job, was married, and followed the golden rule. He's avoided being cynical and bottom line minded -- but the world seems to keep telling him to look out for number one and eliminate anyone in his way... RECURRING GUEST STAR W/ SERIES OPTION FOR SUBSEQUENT SEASONS (MUST BE AVAILABLE 6/19-6/30 & 10/16-11/19)"

"[HILDA] Female, Mid 20s to 30, Attractive, Kirk's wife, she's a real partner to him. She's a strong woman, not passive or wilting.... RECURRING GUEST STAR"

There was also a new character revealed in the same casting call as Heath (see #11 below). The characters name is Tucker and check out his details below courtesy of Movie Fone.

"[TUCKER] Male, 30s, A hardworking man with a tough fairness. He's a guy's guy who can also be articulate and feel like a leader. When push comes to shove, he's willing to take extreme measures to protect what he has, even if it gets him in over his head.... GUEST STAR"

"[ALLISON] Female, Late 20s to early 40s. A smart, artful, and charming psychologist who quickly turns awkward and messy when it comes to her personal life. She'd much rather stay safely inside her comfort zone, but the true test of her mettle comes when the comfort's gone and the stakes are life and death. She's not cynical and really cares about people...RECURRING GUEST STAR / MULTIPLE EPISODES. WILL APPEAR IN 602 (5/15-5/27), 605 (6/9-6/18), & ADDITIONAL EPISODES TBD (OUTSIDE DATES: 6/19-11/19). ACTOR MUST NOT BE CONTRACTED TO ANOTHER PILOT / SERIES. WE CANNOT CONSIDER ANYONE WHO IS IN SECOND POSITION."

The character description sounds like this could be Dr. Denise Cloyd, who has a romantic relationship with Heath in the graphic novel. We don't know for sure and will have to wait to find out when "The Walking Dead" returns this fall. Until then check out these other 12 exciting details about the sixth season of "TWD."

13. Rick & Morgan drama - When "The Walking Dead" returns for its sixth season next year we'll definitely see some tension between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan (Lennie James). We already had an idea that it would be a "Team Rick" or "Team Morgan" kind of season after seeing the first promo poster for season six but Lincoln has confirmed the tension in a recent interview with Collider at the 41st Annual Saturn Awards.

Watch Lincoln’s full interview with Collider below.

14. Will Carl die? - While talking to Entertainment Weekly "The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott Gimple revealed that the sixth season will stick closely to the comic book as usual but will also delve deeper into some of the backstories that Robert Kirkman never developed within the pages of his graphic novels. Gimple said:

"There are other people that we’re going to see throughout the season from the comics, and I’m excited for people to see it, but I don’t want to tell them now. I think a few minor remixes, but some direct stuff from the comic as well, as far as these characters go."

There is no word on what exactly will be shown from the comics but it makes us wonder if a major event will come to fruition. In "The Walking Dead" #83 Carl is shot in the eye and we are left wondering if Rick's son will make it. It's a case of friendly fire as Deanna shoots out young Carl's eye during her last stand agains the walkers during the invasion. Check it out below:

15. Official trailer revealed - The new trailer for "The Walking Dead" season six premiered at San Diego Comic-Con. The video comes in at a little over four-minutes and shows a lot of gore, devestation and much more. It also confirms our speculations that the sixth season will focus on Rick and Morgan's feud.

Furthermore, IGN reports "The Walking Dead" premiere will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Stay tuned for information regarding the event but until then check out the official trailer below along with these 14 exciting details about season six of "The Walking Dead" below:

16. Daryl Teases Glenn's death - Norman Reedus may have dropped a huge bombshell about a major players death in season six of "The Walking Dead." During an interview with MTV the actor who plays Daryl teased that the character he misses the most from the series is Steven Yeun's Glenn. It could be a joke but we won't know for sure until the series returns in October. Check out the interview below:
