At least one death coming in the finale episodes of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 appears to have been confirmed. Spoiler warning! Potential plot details for “The Walking Dead” ahead.

It is a fact that there will be major deaths coming before the season ends. The Whisperers will kill at least eight people from the different communities and put their heads on pikes to mark their territory.

Tammy from Hilltop has always been speculated to be one of them, but it looks like it is now more real than speculation. Brett Butler, who plays Tammy, took to Instagram to say goodbye to her character. She revealed that the previous episode was Tammy and Earl's “next to last” appearance on “The Walking Dead.”

She shared a screenshot of that moment on her Instagram and wrote a caption that pretty much confirmed at least her character is a goner. “It was awesome working with John Finn and the best crew. Hardest working, friendliest lot which matters on long hot days,” she wrote. “Thanks to [Angela] Kang for casting me,” she concluded.

What's more interesting is that she mentioned “our next to last appearance,” which suggested that the character of Earl, who was in the screenshot she shared, is also in serious danger. Most speculations thought that it would be either Tammy or Earl, not both. But speculators always leaned towards the former. After all, she had the same fate in the comics, and her presence on “The Walking Dead” has considerably decreased for a secondary character.

This became even more likely when they took in a baby. Even more, Tammy has been showing concerns about her husband's health. And in the next to last appearance she referred to, she even saved him from a walker. This could be a sign that when it comes to saving herself, she might fail. Meanwhile, if she wasn't implying that Earl's head will be on a pike as well, then maybe Tammy's death will simply mark the end of the character's run on the show.

Details about the last three episodes of “The Walking Dead” Season 9 suggest that the pike deaths will take place in Episode 15. The synopsis for that episode titled “The Calm Before” reads:

“The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years, while some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price.”

Episode 16, the finale, will see the groups process the aftermath of an “overwhelming loss.” It also teases that fans will finally see the characters deal with winter. The rest of the synopsis reads:

“As one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.”

As for “The Walking Dead” Season 9 Episode 14 titled “Scars” airing March 17, it will feature flashbacks when Michonne was still pregnant with RJ and both she and Daryl look for Rick. This episode is expected to reveal who have the two “X” scars on their backs.
