Fans can never tire of Meghan Markle’s “before and after fame” tales. While the Duchess of Sussex stirred up some Royal controversy recently in a revelatory documentary during her Africa tour with Prince Harry, it looks like nothing is going to stop Meghan from grabbing the spotlight. A recent piece by a former leading tabloid hinted at Meghan and her team being overly keen about the Duchess of Sussex hogging media spotlight, back in 2013.

“It soon became clear that Meghan was determined to raise her profile – even if it was with an inconsequential 80-word piece tagged on to the end of my weekly column,” said Katie Hind, Mail on Sunday’s former Showbusiness editor. “She was softly spoken, kind and eager to chat,” Hind added. Meghan’s UK publicist Neil Ransome, reportedly, “begged” Hind to meet the actress over a couple of drinks.

The former leading tabloid journalist went on to reveal juicy details from the meeting. “Pouring me some of the venue’s house prosecco into a plastic champagne flute, I sensed an eagerness to make me her friend,” Hind said. Meghan, who was then starring in “Suits,” did not make much of an impact.

In fact, Hind elucidated that she did not know of Meghan and it was made known to her that Ransome was bending backward to get Meghan Markle the tabloid exposure she desired, back then. What’s more, Hind described the then-Meghan “seemed like a normal woman.”

Also, it looked like Meghan is candid and enthusiastic about her future prospects. The Duchess, apparently, spoke about her divorce from Trevor Engelson to Hind. She also expressed her interest in Ashley Cole who had followed her back then and, allegedly, made conversations with her. The editor, then, warned her from the disaster, given how well she was clued up about the footballer’s former marriage to singer Cheryl Tweedy. Hind opened up about Meghan’s love for English men and London.

The former tabloid editor seemed keen to bring forth one of Meghan Markle’s biggest attributes: her incredible networking skills. “Clearly, networking was something at which she excelled,” Hind said in the report. “Either she didn’t realize she was doing it or – more likely in my view – she had it down to fine art,” Hind added.

The report comes as a shocker to fans, who woke up to the news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle being extremely unhappy under excessive media scrutiny. Things seem to have changed a great deal for the Duchess, who spoke of her absolute disgust for British media the last weekend. Meghan Markle went on record to share that not many had asked if she was okay in the explosive ITV documentary during their recent Africa tour.
