Dozens of high-ranking cartel operatives could be seen handcuffed and walking in a single line with their heads down while being extradited to the U.S. following a new agreement between the Donald Trump and Claudia Sheinbaum administrations.
Images shared with media outlets also showed the detainees having the handcuffs removed and forced to seat at what appeared to be a boarding hall.

Mexico conducted the extraditions on Tuesday at the request of the Department of Justice after committing not to pursue the death penalty in all 26 cases.
Those extradited will face charges "relating to drug-trafficking, hostage taking, kidnapping, illegal use of firearms, human smuggling, money laundering, the murder of a sheriffs' deputy, and other crimes," the DOJ added in a statement.
The operatives are "leaders and managers of dangerous drug cartels, such as those designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists, including the Sinaloa Cartel, Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), and Cártel del Noreste (formerly Los Zetas)," the statement added.
The DOJ highlighted the detention of nine operatives, including Abigael Gonzalez Valencia, also known as "El Cuini." He is the leader of Los Cuinis, described as a "major drug cartel responsible for trafficking multiple tons of cocaine from South America, through Mexico, into the United States."
U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson celebrated the development, saying he was "deeply grateful to President Claudia Sheinbaum for her leadership in strengthening the partnership with Donald Trump and the United States against our common enemies and for mutual benefit of our citizens."
"This transfer is yet another example of what is possible when two governments stand united against violence and impunity. Justice will prevail," he added.

The extraditions had been anticipated in April by journalist Ioan Grillo, who said they are part of "President Claudia Sheinbaum's strategy of cracking down hard on cartels to placate the Trump administration."
In February of this year, 29 alleged cartel bosses, including "Narco of Narcos" Rafael Caro Quintero and the Treviño Morales brothers, were also extradited to the United States on military planes.
