Magdelin Martínez, the Miss Dominican Republic Universe candidate representing the Latino community in the United States, announced that she was withdrawing from her aspirations to represent the Caribbean country in the pageant to be held in Thailand in November.

Martínez announced his resignation to the public in a heartfelt message on social media, in which he stated that his decision was the result of careful consideration and "for personal and professional reasons that today require my full attention and conscious presence."

"With serenity in my soul and gratitude in my heart, today I share with you a decision made through reflection, self-love, and profound respect for the processes that transform us.

After a journey filled with learning, experiences, and growth, I have decided to end my participation in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2025 pageant. This carefully considered choice responds to personal and professional reasons that today require my full attention and conscious presence.

I express my gratitude to the pageant organizers for allowing me to be part of such a valuable platform, and to all the people who, with love, faith, and support, have been part of this beautiful chapter. Each step I've taken has taught me lessons that I cherish with humility and gratitude.

My commitment to my community, my values, and the purpose that brought me here remains steadfast. This decision doesn't mean goodbye, but rather a transition toward new opportunities where I can continue contributing and growing.

Thank you for walking with me with so much love and for believing in my essence.

With respect, peace and hope,
Magdelin Martínez

The decision came one day after fellow countrywoman Yamilex Hernández was chosen as Miss Universe Latina on the Telemundo reality show, which will also represent the U.S. Latino community in the pageant.

Who will represent the Dominican Republic at Miss Universe?

The Miss Dominican Republic Universe pageant now has 35 candidates, who will compete for the crown at the competition held on August 10 in Santo Domingo. It is not yet known whether they will replace Martínez. If so, there will be 36 contestants.
