Donald Trump has a knack for making controversial statements about almost anything, and his visit to the UK, as well as his meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, is no exception. Understandably, some Brits are a bit irritated over the US President’s unusual comments when he met the monarch.

President Trump visited the UK from June 3 to 5 this year as part of his Europe tour. When he went back to the states, Trump seemed to fondly remember Queen Elizabeth’s reception of him that he even said that he had an “automatic chemistry” with Her Majesty.

“The meeting with the Queen was incredible,” Trump said. “I think I can say I've really got to know her because I've sat with her many times and we had automatic chemistry. You understand that feeling, it's a good feeling. But she's a spectacular woman.”

But some of the Queen’s subjects are not too happy with Trump’s description. For instance, Quora user William Uchtman believes that it’s probably just his ego and sense of self-worth talking.

“The man has an incredibly inflated self-worth of himself,” Uchtman wrote on the question-and-answer site. “He visits England, there are obvious protests about his visit, and he says he doesn’t see a single thing. He meets the Queen, certain family members don’t show up, he’s not treated with the bravado they exhibited with Obama, so to pump himself up in the Press, he HAS to claim things were great.”

However, not everyone is vindictive of the US President. In fact, others believe that Trump’s statements just meant that Queen Elizabeth is doing her job to perfection.

Brandon Macken, another Quora user, believes that Her Majesty is just a professional doing her job. “Queen Elizabeth II is a professional,” Macken wrote. “She's the longest reigning monarch and head of state in the world. If anything, she knows a thing or two about diplomacy.”

The monarch is also a master in keeping up with appearances and will never let her personal opinion get in the way of her duty. “We will never know what she thinks of the President, but what we do know is that she has met some very controversial heads of state through her long reign, and Her Majesty has treated all of them with an equal amount of respect,” Macken stated.
