Disney’s “Frozen 2” trailer has been released a few days ago, and it broke the record as the most viewed animation trailer of all time within 24 hours. The sequel to 2013’s “Frozen” is the talk of the town for making another history for Disney and the animation industry nine months prior to its release. The sequel trailer teases on a more serious tone as Elsa is seen battling the ocean.

The first “Frozen,” which was released in 2013, was an unexpected success that took the world by storm. “Frozen” has set a new era of animation for Disney and prepared fans to welcome unconventional princesses. The story of sisters Elsa and Anna has captured kids and adults alike, gaining sales of $1.2 billion worldwide. The animation is ranked as the fifth top-grossing film of all time and the top-grossing animation film of all time.

The success surpassed box office hit records as it also won two Academy Awards, a BAFTA and a Golden Globe. The film’s official soundtrack, “Let it Go,” is one of the most played songs from an animation film and has album sales of one million. The YouTube video earned hundred million views and Spotify streams of seven million.

Disney proved the power of princesses once more thru “Frozen.” Within the year of the release, Disney estimated a profit of almost $84 million from the retail of “Frozen” brand products. Elsa and Anna just became one of the forces to reckon with in terms of advertising

Elsa and Anna’s status as endorsers reached another level within 24 hours after the release of the “Frozen 2” trailer as the trailer broke another record. The trailer alone was viewed 116.4 million times, earning the spot for the most watched trailer for animation film of all time. Watch the official trailer below.

So what do fans know about Frozen 2? The original cast Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff will be reprising their roles as Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff, respectively. Actress Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown will join the team with undisclosed roles.

Plot wise, the sequel seems to be taking a darker tone as Elsa seems to be fighting with the ocean with her ice powers, while Anna, in a different scene, is surrounded with floating diamonds. The characters are noticeably wearing new costumes, which could be a new hit for Halloween among kids.

“Frozen 2” reportedly will be shown in theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.
