Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary soon. Among Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s four children, Prince Edward is the only one who still hasn’t gotten a divorce.

Body language expert Judi James recently weighed in on the royal couple’s relationship and said that there is one reason why Prince Edward and Sophie are still together. She said that it all boils down to the mother of Prince Edward’s two children.

“Judging from her history and her body language, I would suggest this is largely down to Sophie,” James told Express. “A successful PR with her own firm, she integrated into the royal family in a very unfussy way and was a perfect complement for her husband’s trait of apparently taking himself a little too seriously,” she added.

James also said that among the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s children, it was Prince Edward who was not expected to have a lasting marriage. This is because of all of the things he did years ago.

“Having quit the Royal Marine training in a rather emotional escape, he began as a tea boy for a theater company before showing both his talent for making bad decisions and his more high-handed, belligerent side by first organizing the ill-fated ‘It’s A Royal Knockout’ and then storming out of the press interview in a strop when journalists gave it a less than enthusiastic reception,” James said.

But despite Prince Edward’s attitudes and traits, he seems to be a perfect match for Sophie. The couple has been blessed with two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles’ and Prince Andrew’s marriages were both short-lived. The Prince of Wales and the late Princess of Wales tied the knot in 1981. They were also blessed with two children, Prince William and Prince Harry. However, the couple announced their separation in 1992 and was officially divorced in 1996.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson also have two daughters together, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. They announced their separation in 1992, and they divorced in 1996. But the former couple still has an amicable relationship.
