Newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have been the subject of rumors and speculations. Perhaps the most vicious among the bunch was the rumor that the couple might be heading for splitsville after 117 days of marriage. However, mounting evidence suggests otherwise — they’re into their marriage for the long run.

Nick Jonas Already Knew Priyanka Chopra Is The One

One of the reasons cited by breakup rumors is that they never really had enough time to get to know each other. This is true to some extent since fans of both Jonas and Chopra must have been shocked to learn about their dating, engagement and wedding all in the same year.

Jonas actually knew Chopra as a friend around two years before they became a couple. However, it was when the two started dating that Jonas knew that the “Quantico” star is the one he has been waiting for.

Jonas revealed how he felt about Chopra after they started dating during a SiriusXM segment. “Wow this is the person and I know, right off the bat,” he said. “So it happened very fast, within days of us diving in. I told [my brothers] a week after our first date, ‘I’m going to propose later this year.’ I said September it was May at the time, it ended up being June when I proposed.”

Chopra honestly revealed that she did not think she’d end up marrying Jonas at first. But as they dated, Jonas surprised her by his very mature view on things that she even has a funny nickname for him.

“I call him ‘Old Man Jonas.’ That's my name for him, ‘OMJ,’” Chopra told Tina Brown during the 10th Annual Women in the World Summit. “He's such an old soul, extremely smart, so good for me because he grounds me so much. I'm a wild child, I do whatever I want whenever I want and he always supports me.”

What surprised Chopra very much is that while Jonas longed to be in her company, he always respects her schedule and would never get in the way of her career by demanding attention. For instance, during a nightout with friends, Chopra expected Jonas to ask her to cancel her previously scheduled meeting so they can continue to enjoy the evening.

But that did not happen. “Look, I'm not stupid,” Chopra recalled Jonas telling her. “I know what you're trying to do, but I will never be the one who will tell you to cancel work because I know how hard you've worked to be where you are. So if you could've canceled it, you would've done it. I'll take our friends out for dinner, we'll wait for you, and you finish your meeting and come back.”
