Apple Pro Display XDR
The new Apple Pro Display XDR. Apple

Before its launch, the Apple Pro Display XDR price has been the subject of speculations by fans who want a larger screen. The company’s top-of-the-line display came out on Tuesday with a price tag of$4,999.

Considering that the Apple Pro Display XDR Price is only one dollar shy of $5,000, the hardware might be a bit too pricey for casual users. But for professionals who have deeper pockets and demand only the best from their wares, they’ll be getting what they pay for.

Interestingly, there’s a way to upgrade the hardware for those who are willing to pay the corresponding increase in the Apple Pro Display XDR price tag. By shelling out an additional $1,000, buyers will be getting the nano texture upgrade, according to The Verge.

The nano texture upgrade is where one will get a non-reflective, matte finish into the glass of the display itself. Apple explained that the texture is “etched into the glass at the nanometer level” so the display remains as crisp and vibrant despite the matte finish.

But the upgrade comes with a surprising warning. Apparently, Apple does not want the owners to the Pro Display XDR with just any piece of cleaning cloth. “Never use any other cloths to clean the nano-texture glass,” the company said in a support document.

That’s why the nano texture upgrade comes with a special cleaning cloth specifically manufactured for cleaning the screen. Unfortunately, the cleaning cloth can’t be bought in an Apple store or via Amazon. One has to contact Apple for a replacement if the cleaning cloth is lost.

Apple also provided specific instructions on how to clean the nano texture screen to prevent damage. Owners can simply wipe away any dust or smudge off the screen by using the company provided polishing cloth. The cloth must be dry as adding water or any liquid to moisten it is not allowed.

The polishing cloth must also be clean before using it on the nano texture screen. To clean it, one can just use soap and water before rinsing it thoroughly. It must then be air-dried for at least 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Apple Pro Display XDR that only has standard glass does not come with a polishing cloth. Instead, Apple instructed to clean smudges off the screen with any clean, dry, micro-fiber cloth.
