Macaulay Culkin rose to fame when he was starred in the hit 1990 comedy film “Home Alone” and its sequel, which was released a year later. With Disney+'s decision to make a reboot, fans have been asking if Culkin might be joining the upcoming movie.

Based on his social media posts, it appears that Culkin is not averse to the possibility of joining the “Home Alone” reboot at all, according to Esquire. When news broke out that Disney+ will be making the film, the actor responded by posting a photo on Twitter, which shows just what he’ll do when he’s home alone.

“This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like,” Culkin captioned the photo. The picture shows the actor sitting on a sofa while watching something on his laptop. He also showed a bulging stomach while holding an empty plate which seems to suggest that he was binge-eating as well.

He even jokingly posted a message about wanting Disney to contact him for the movie. “Hey @Disney, call me!” the actor tweeted.

For some fans of the original movies, Macaulay Culkin will forever be Kevin McCallister, the main character of the franchise. Lawrence Ward is one such fan that he even started a petition online urging Disney+ to let Culkin reprise his role as Kevin in the reboot, according to Bored Panda.

“Disney are remaking Home Alone,” Ward tweeted. “This is a petition for them to re-cast 38-year-old Macauley Culkin as 9-year-old Kevin McCallister and have nobody in the film acknowledge it.”

The tweet actually caught Culkin’s eyes and he responded by pointing out some factual errors. “I have a big problem with this petition,” the actor tweeted. “I’m actually 39 years old.”

It started a lively discussion with some fans offering how the plot could be twisted for it to work. “It’s easy,” Twitter user The Outsider wrote. “Make Kevin that average Millenial who is forced to live with his parents because of the sh*ty American economy and job market. It’s believable.“

At the moment, however, Disney+ has not made any announcement about Culkin’s involvement in the project. But even if the actor is tapped for a role, he won’t be playing a young Kevin anymore because of his age.

Meanwhile, Disney+ has already made a few announcements about the reboot’s cast. According to Variety, actors Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney will be joining the upcoming film. However, it was also revealed that Yates won’t be playing as Kevin.
