Wilmer Valderrama is now engaged to his model girlfriend Amanda Pacheco. The actor confirmed his engagement by posting it on social media.

Valderrama posted a photo on Instagram showing him getting down on one knee as he offered what appears to be an engagement ring to a standing Pacheco whose back was facing the camera, according to EW.com. The photo was taken with the sea as the backdrop.

“It’s just us now,” the NCIS star captioned his post. He also added “01-01-2020,” which is the date of their engagement.

Valderrama proposed to Pacheco on New Year’s Day in San Diego. A second photo shows a close-up shot of the couple’s hands with Amanda wearing the stunning pear-shaped engagement ring Wilmer gave her.

The name Amanda Pacheco might not ring a bell to most of Valderrama’s fans. Here are five things known so far about Wilmer’s fiancée:

1. She’s a divemaster

Aside from being a model, Amanda Pacheco is also a PADI divemaster, according to Life&Style. Being a divemaster means that she is licensed to lead recreational scuba diving excursions.

2. Wilmer and Amanda started dating last year

The first report that linked Valderrama to Pacheco was when Us Weekly reported in May 2019 that they were casually dating. This means that they started dating shortly before the report was made. The cool thing is that Wilmer’s ex, Demi Lovato, is okay and supportive of their relationship.

3. Amada’s boyfriend before Wilmer

Based on her social media account, Pacheco had a boyfriend named Ricky prior to her relationship with Valderrama. Not much is known about Ricky, which probably meant that he is a non-showbiz personality.

4. Their first social media post

Pacheco was the first one to acknowledge her relationship to Valderrama on social media by posting two selfies with Wilmer on June 19, 2019, while they were in Tokyo. Valderrama followed suit by posting a pic with Amanda on social media on September 18, 2019. “A dedication for the girl of my life … because life is tastier with Chimichurri,” was the English translation of his caption.

Neither Pacheco nor Valderrama made an official wedding date announcement at the moment. However, the usual gap between engagement and wedding is between one year and a year and a half. This means they’ll likely walk down the aisle by 2021.
