Maria Carreiro, a 51-year-old grandmother, received the shock of her life when she won the Ontario Lotto for $40 Million.

The Toronto native was literally jumping for joy as she was presented with her envious check for $40 million. "Thank you Lord, thank you Lord!" Carreiro sang to reporters as she broke into a happy dance.

Carreiro who mistakenly thought she won $40,000 was even more thrilled when her daughter checked her winning numbers online and realized she won a $40Million, 1,000 times more than she originally believed.

"She went on the computer, and she checked the computer, and she goes, 'Mommy, you're $40 million richer.' I'm like, 'No way, no way,'" Carreiro said.

After discovering the winning numbers and checking online, Carreiro says she literally ran to the convenience store where he ticket was purchased. "I run down the street [to the store] like a crazy woman and check the lottery ticket, and it says $40 million, and I go, 'Oh, my God,'" she said.

The National Post reports that Carreiro used a quick pick ticket instead of playing her regular numbers and her numbers were randomly selected. Whatever she did it certainly worked!

Carreiro is a Portuguese immigrant factory worker who plans on purchasing a home and taking a honeymoon to Hawaii with her husband of 30 years.

Upon hearing the news her husband did not believe it, ut once he saw the winning ticket himself he quit his office job.

Their daughter, Manuela, who discovered the real amount of the winnings, is still on cloud 9. "It still hasn't sunk in. You know my dad works so hard, and we've been struggling so much. It's $40 million; it's so much money."
