The highly anticipated "Game of Thrones" Season 5 release date is April 12. We've still got another two months before the show returns, but an insightful "Game of Thrones: A Day In The Life" documentary that aired Sunday night took us behind the scenes of one looks like the most epic season of "GoT" yet.

The 30-minute HBO special took us around one day of "Game of Thrones" production. Two units are shooting in three separate locations at the same time, including Northern Ireland, Croatia, and Spain. In total, "Game of Thrones" Season 5 will be shot in 240 days at more than five countries. The show will feature more than 150 sets, boast more than 150 cast members, 1,000 crew members, and 5,000 extras. In short, "Game of Thrones" is epic in every sense of the word.

The new season will introduce us to the Water Gardens of Dorne, shot at the beautiful Alcázar of Seville castle in Spain, where Cersei, played by Lena Headey, will meet the High Sparrow, played by Jonathan Pryce, for the first time. Of course, the scene fans are anticipating for the most is Cersei's nude "walk of shame." The scene, which was shot at a beautiful church located in Dubrovnik, Croatia, caused quite a lot of controversy as the church and nation refused to allow actress Lena Headey to strip on sacred grounds.

Other major sets include Daenerys' wedding to Hizdahr zo Loraq, which will be shot at a set built upon an old bull ring in the town of Osuna, Spain. The crew spent 12 days to create the set for this one scene.

WARNING SPOILER:

The bull ring film set is intended to create the biggest fighting pit in Meereen. Here, the preview documentary reveals that Jorah will be participating in a fight that could possibly leave him fatally wounded. According to a previously leaked video, this set may also feature a particular brutal film where Daenerys' dragon burns a number of Unsullied soldiers. Check out the leaked video here.
