It’s the end of an era and the last time to suit up! CBS has announced today that the “How I Met Your Mother” one-hour series finale will premiere on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series finale will finally conclude Ted’s epic tale of how he met the mother of his children. While the final episode synopsis has not been revealed yet, fans can still look forward to at least 10 more episodes including the highly-anticipated “Slapsgiving” episode.

“Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra” is scheduled to air January 13, 2014 and the official description has been revealed. In an attempt to deliver a devastating final slap to Barney, Marshall explains how he mastered the Slap of A Million Exploding Suns. It truly will be sad to see the gang from HIMYM split ways but there may be some cameos by the cast for the spinoff, “How I Met Your Dad.” HIMYM creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays were given the ok to create the spinoff that will air sometime in the 2014-2015 season.

“How I Met Your Mother” series finale will be followed by the premiere of “Friends With Better Lives” airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The show is about six friends at very different stages in lives. The show stars James Van Der Beek, Kevin Connoly and Brooklyn Decker. Once HIMYM ends the CBS Monday lineup will include “Friends with Better Lives” and “2 Broke Girls” Starting April 14.
