Travel through time with all the telenovelas Maite Perroni has participated in since her debut on "Rebelde." Televisa

Maite Perroni has been captivating the hearts of viewers ever since she broke out as Lupita on "Rebelde." The hit teen soap spawned a musical group known as RBD. The group toured around Latin America and the U.S. in a phenomenon that has not been replicated since. Perroni has been able to juggle a singing and acting career perfectly. It is as an actress where she has continued to push her limits diversifying the characters she has portrayed through the years. We last saw her on "Antes Muerta Que Lichita" where Maite had to show herself with minimal makeup, ill-fitting clothes and a very peculiar wig. Let's go through history and remember all of Maite Perroni's roles on tv.

On "Rebelde," Maite gave life to Lupita Fernández. After many years, Lupita is reunited with her father, Joel, who, after divorcing Lupita’s mother married a woman named Viridiana whom he met in Oaxaca, where he was living. Joel and his new wife are now back in Mexico City with their daughter Dolores (Lola). Lupita had been looking forward to seeing her long-absent father once more, and to meeting her half-sister. However, to Lupita’s dismay, Lola proves to be hostile and aggressive, with a rebellious negative attitude that totally throws her off. Refusing to give in to first impressions, Lupita vows to set herself up as a model sister for her younger sibling.

She plunges into her studies with renewed enthusiasm and pays careful attention to her manners and general demeanor to avoid being a bad example to Lola, who, more than mean spirited, is simply disoriented in her new environment. Lupita’s other reason for concentrating on her school work is that Nico has gone to Israel for a year to work on a kibbutz. With Nico no longer around to influence her, she begins to revert to her quiet, studious self, and this does not sit well with her friends Roberta, Jose and Mia. Her biggest headache, though, is her half-sister Dolores.

On "Cuidado Con El Angel," Perroni portrayed the lovable Marichuy. A girl from a poor neighborhood. She is kind, sweet and honest, but with a strong, rebellious temper. At times her seriousness makes you think and at others it makes you smile. Her childhood and adolescence were full of sadness, but she overcame her problems, and her attitude towards life is almost always very positive, clear and bright.

Distancing herself from the fairy tale, soaps, Perroni took on the challenge of giving life to Lucrecia Cordoba Pedraza on "Mi Pecado." Outgoing by nature, her mother’s rejection has made her timid and fearful. Since childhood, she has carried a burden of guilt she cannot understand. She longs to be free and independent, but her mother makes her feel insecure and manipulates her, accusing her of causing the death of her twin brother. Only Julian’s love can free her of her feelings of inadequacy and her need to justify her existence.

Maite Perroni got her first shot on a primetime production with "Triunfo Del Amor." In this telenovela she played Maria Desamparada, a beautiful young woman with a great personality and a good heart. Her only ill feeling is against her parents. She thinks they abandoned her in a boarding school as a little girl. She lives with Nati and Linda, whom she loves as sisters. She admires her boss Victoria (not knowing she is her mother) and cannot understand why the woman is so mean to her. She loves Max ignoring he is Victoria’s stepson, is hurt when she learns the truth, and hides her pregnancy from him.

On "Cachito De Cielo," Maite was Renata, a beautiful young girl who is a sports journalist; she is famous reporter Ernesto “Pupis” Landero´s and Tete´s daughter, with whom she has a very confident relationship. When Cachito, the love of her life, dies, she believes she will never fall in love again; she will lose her head for Father Salvador, though. She rejects him at first, but afterwards, she will accept her reality. She will fight for a love that for the first time has made her forget about Cachito, ignoring they are the same person.

Maite then went on to portray Esmeralda Cruz, otherwise known as "La Gata." Since she was a child, she was raised by Doña Rita, who forced her to beg for money and food in order to survive; that builds a strong and rebel character in her. As a child she meets Pablo who becomes her best friend; but over the years, Esmeralda realizes she is in love with him and he corresponds her. However, she is aware that they belong to different worlds, and they must fight for their love in order to be together.

Lastly, Maite got to experience the role of a lifetime in "Antes Muerta Que Lichita." The titled character is a smart, pretty young girl, although she doesn’t know how to cash in her beauty. Talented and with a generous personality, but not very skillful to take advantage of her qualities. She dreams with two things: finding love and being the creative director of Icónika; however, she is never promoted from being an assistant who is ignored by everyone. When she seems to have found the ideal man, not only does he steal her heart but he also steals the position in the company that she dreams with. Tired of being ‘Lichita’, she decides to give her life a twist and recover what belongs to her.
