The new season of "Rica Famosa Latina" has not started airing yet, but it is already causing shockwaves after newcomer Patricia de León and veteran star Luzelba Mansour got into a fight where the latter ended up with more than 30 stitches. Now De León is addressing the incident and clearing up what happened on that bloody night. “I am an actress, a professional, I take my work very seriously," she told LatinTimes in a statement. "The other night my co-star and I were shooting a scene and a water fight ended in her accidentally colliding her arm with my wine glass. It was just an accident and I am sorry that she was injured in any manner. It is sad to me that anyone would try to use this accident to gain press coverage."

Patricia de León and Luzelba Mansour met up in a locale in Los Angeles to chat and shoot a scene for the Estrella TV reality show. The confrontation was taped and from what we gathered from the scene there's a rumor going around in the show that Patricia is having an affair with her sister's husband, gossip that another fellow newcomer Mimi Lazo passed on to Luzelba. The latter lost it when De León brought up Luzelba and Mimi's ages, shading them for being old. Luzelba threw water at her and Patricia retaliated throwing a glass cup at her and injuring her brutally.

De León also clear up the rumor that is being passed on around the girls and said: "As for the rumor of me sleeping with my sister’s husband that is just too silly and disgusting for me to even take the time to respond to. There are some truly disturbed people out there to make up a lie like that.”

Patricia de León is one of the new faces joining Season 5 of "Rica Famosa Latina." She is a former beauty queen, having been crowned as Miss Panamá in 1995. She has presented television shows like "La Corte de Familia" and "La Corte del Pueblo." Patricia has also had guest-starring roles in shows like "Ghost Whisperer," "Cold Case" and "Crossing Jordan" and films like "Fighting For Freedom" and "Bad Ass."

Other new cast members joining the show are: Scarlet Ortiz the Venezuelan actress is best known for her roles in telenovelas like "Secreto de Amor", "Todos Quieren Con Marilyn," "Mis Tres Hermanas," and most recently on "La Fan."; Mimí Lazo is a Venezuelan actress that has participated in more than 15 films and about 20 telenovelas; Ninette Ríos is a television reporter from Guatemala that has participated in shows on Telemundo and Univision's "Despierta América."

"Rica Famosa Latina" is set to return on September 18 and will see the return of Niurka Marcos, Sandra Vidal and Luzelba Mansour.

Earlier this year Sissi Fleitas announced she was leaving the show after three seasons. The "My Life Is A Telenovela" star made it official on her social media account. "I will not be on the show," she wrote in an Instagram post with fellow cast mates Luzelba Mansour and Sandra Vidal. "We didn't reach an agreement and there are new things in my personal and professional life that now occupy my time. I know that the new casting is coming along great and that they will be able to entertain all of you at the level of production that characterizes 'Rica Famosa Latina.'"
