Camilla Parker Bowles is a member of the royal family, but she’s well known around the world for the wrong reasons. She’s Prince Charles’ wife, but there are still people who hate her for being the future king’s mistress when Princess Diana was still alive.

The Duchess of Cornwall’s reputation is somehow negative until now since her love affair with Prince Charles continues to grab the headlines. Since many people just think about the extramarital affair when her name is being mentioned, not many know things about her.

There are a lot of interesting facts about the duchess that may be worth noting. But here are some of them.

The Duchess Is Fond Of Animals

Camilla has two dogs — two Jack Russel terriers — which she named Bluebell and Beth. They were rescue puppies that she acquired from London's Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, an animal shelter she supports.

According to Town & Country, the Duchess of Cornwall loves dogs, but she also loves horses as she’s an equestrian. She’s a regular attendee in equestrian and horse race events and always graces the London International Horse Show as well.

She Was A Company Secretary

The duchess also had jobs before becoming a member of the royal family. In her 20s, she worked as a secretary for different companies around London’s West End. At one point, she also became a receptionist in an interior design firm called Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler.

Prince Charles And Camilla Are Related

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall are distant cousins as they share the same ancestors that date back to as far as the 17th century. They are related through their relationship to Henry Cavendish, the 2nd Duke of Newcastle.

Also, Alice Keppel, Camilla’s great-great-grandmother, was King Edward VII’s mistress, and he is Charles’ great-great-grandfather. Strangely, the two of them are also related to Princess Diana as they are all descendants of King Charles II.

Camilla Was Delivered By The Same OB Who Delivered Charles

It seems that Camilla and Prince Charles’ ties go way back to the day when they were born. People reported that the two were delivered by the same gynecologist and nurse who worked at the King’s College Hospital located in London. The duchess was born 16 months ahead of the first in line to the throne.

The Duchess Brings Her Own Liquor When Traveling

Camilla likes to drink alcohol, so she always brings her own booze when traveling. As per Express, journalist Gordon Rayner has been part of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall’s royal tours, and he saw them carrying their own secret stash of liquor. They’re reportedly doing this so they won’t be in danger of getting their drinks spiked.
