Ilia Calderón will be a moderator in the second Republican presidential candidates to be held September 27 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.
Calderón (51), an Afro-Latina journalist, was born in Colombia and currently co-anchors Univision's national evening news program with Mexican presenter Jorge Ramos.
According to TelevisaUnivision, Calderón will become the first Afro-Latina to moderate a Republican primary debate.
She will join Fox News Media's presenters Stuart Varney and Dana Perino.
This is not Calderón's first experience moderating a presidential hopefuls debate. In 2020, she co-moderated the final Democratic primary debate between Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders.
