
With a remarkable trajectory that began in 1950, Angélica María is the proud honoree of her very own star on Hollywood's Walk of a Fame. Angélica, also known as "La Novia de Mexico" in the industry, was honored with the 2,582nd star on the renowned strip on Wednesday morning in California, receiving a star in the Live Theater/Performance category.
Joining the beloved Mexican actress on her special day were her daughter Angelica Vale and actor Diego Boneta, who attended the ceremony. "Today is a very special day," expressed Vale on her Twitter account ahead of the special event. "Today the name of Angelica Maria, the eternal sweetheart, will stay engraved in Hollywood," she added, stating that the honor is well deserved.


"You've inspired all of the new wave of Mexican and Latino actors who are here today. With an example of simplicity, perseverance and love for your country," said Boneta at the event, elaborating that the actress represents Mexico in a positive light. "Thank you for your inspiration, for motivating me, for having an incredible daughter and for your friendship," he added.
Vale also had a few words for her mother at the ceremony, expressing how lucky and blessed she is to have her not only as a mother, but also as a living example. Vale also read a couple of heartfelt letters sent from her friends Gloria and Emilio Estefan, and Ricky Martin.
"I am so thrilled and grateful. This star means a lot to me," Maria said in her acceptance speech. "I never thought I would have my own star, but it means a lot. This star is dedicated to my mother, who was my motor. To my family, to my wonderful daughter, who is my companion and my guide," she said, also dedicating her star to her fans all over the word, to the press who has helped her career and to her two beloved countries, Mexico and the United States.
Angélica María, was born in New Orleans and moved to Mexico at the age of 4. Her 65-year career consists of 61 motion pictures, over 25 telenovelas, 17 theatrical productions and has recorded 63 albums. In 1973, she was credited for launching the “La Balada Ranchera” (Ranchera Ballad) musical genre which topped the charts and made Angélica María the first Latin singer to sell two million copies in the United States.
