Is Angelina Jolie Trying To Dictate Brad Pitt’s Time With Their Children?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has spawned plenty of rumors lately. Perhaps the most surprising one is a recent report saying that Jolie blindsided Pitt and took all of their six kids with her to New Mexico.

According to Gossip Cop, the report came from Woman’s Day Australia, which printed an article saying that Pitt felt blindsided by Jolie’s latest move as it would mean he’ll be spending a shorter amount of time with their children. The article said that all of the couple’s children will be spending the summer with Jolie in Albuquerque, where she will be filming the upcoming thriller titled “Those Who Wish Me Dead.”

The article made it appear that Pitt was misled about the custody arrangement of their children this summer. “He knew Angie had this project coming up, but thought she’d be coming back most weekends,” the magazine quoted an unnamed source. “While she’s not doing anything to stop Brad from seeing the kids, she’ll only bring them back to LA on her own terms, which means Brad’s once again doing all the running to get face time with them.”

Aside from supposedly getting a shorter bonding time with their kids, Pitt also reportedly questioned Jolie’s arrangement of an all-male crew of assistants and bodyguards for their kids. “It’s such a kick in the teeth for Brad,” the source said. “These hired helpers get to see his kids way more than he does.”

However, fact-checking site Gossip Cop reported that by printing the story, the tabloid is just “trying to stir up nonexistent drama.” While some details of the report are true, a major premise of the article is inaccurate.

It is not true that Angelina Jolie blindsided Brad Pitt because details of the latter’s visitation have been worked out even before filming started. “The kids will be back and forth to Los Angeles to see Brad,” a source close to Pitt told Us Weekly. “Brad will also be spending time in New Mexico this summer because at times it will just be easier for him to go there.”

Obviously, Pitt is aware and agreed to the details even if the arrangement is obviously very convenient for Jolie. “Angelina has been trying to spend as much time with her children as possible while working grueling 12-hour days on set in Albuquerque,” another source revealed. “[She] dotes on the younger ones a lot.”
