Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) taunted Vice President JD Vance over his reaction to the Wall Street Journal article claiming that President Donald Trump sent a "bawdy" letter to Jeffrey Epstein.
In a post on X, the lawmaker asked: "Why are you fighting back against releasing what your administration and DOJ knows about Epstein?"

"Release the unedited video and the files. Bring it to light. That should clear everything up," she added. The reaction is part of a broader strategy by many Democrats, who are keeping the issue at the forefront of the conversation to continue driving a wedge between the Trump administration and many in the MAGA base who have been invested in the case for years.
The lawmaker then reposted a message criticizing Trump's announcement about directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to unseal grand jury transcripts in the case, which pointed out that large amounts of related information would remain in the dark.
"What about videos, photographs and other recordings?; What about FBI 302's (witness interviews)?; What about texts and emails?; That's where the evidence about Trump and others will be. Grand jury testimony will only relate to Epstein and Maxwell," reads the publication by Rep. Daniel Goldman.
Trump said on Thursday he would sue The Wall Street Journal and its parent company, NewsCorp, as well as its former CEO Rupert Murdoch following the publication of the story, which he flatly rejected.
Trump added that Murdoch agreed to kill the story, but the outlet moved forward anyway. "The Press has to learn to be truthful, and not rely on sources that probably don't even exist. President Trump has already beaten George Stephanopoulos/ABC, 60 Minutes/CBS, and others, and looks forward to suing and holding accountable the once great Wall Street Journal," reads a passage of the post in which Trump made the announcement.
Trump had already denied writing the letter, telling the outlet before the story was published that he had not drawn a picture of a woman with the words. "This is not me. This is a fake thing. It's a fake Wall Street Journal story," he said.
"I never wrote a picture in my life. I don't draw pictures of women," he added, saying it is not his "language" or his "words." He then said he would sue the outlet "just like I sued everyone else."
The Journal claimed that inside the outline of a naked woman was a "typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump an Epstein, written in the third person."
"Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything," the note began.
Donald: Yes, there is, but I won't tell you what it is.
Jeffrey: Nor will I, since I also know what it is.
Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.
Jeffrey: Yes, we do, come to think of it.
Donald: Enigmas never age, have you noticed that?
Jeffrey: As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.
Trump: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.
