The Aston Martin DB9 was released way back in 2004 while the smaller V8 Vantage has been on sale since 2005. Still as stunning to behold now as it was when it first unveiled, Aston Martin's pair of grand tourers speak volumes about its designer's eye for timeless style.
Only last month, images of Aston Martin's new AM 310 Vanquish leaked across the web, causing quite a sensation among car enthusiasts all over the world. Positioned to bring forth a new Generation of Aston Martin cars, the new Vanquish is an evolution of the DB9 architecture and overall profile but borrows many of the elements found in the hyper-rare Aston Martin One-77 supercar.
Just as we anticipate a new line of successors, Aston Martin isn't ready to retire its outgoing GT cars just yet. Today, the first official images and details of the V12 Vantage drop top has surfaced as a formal unveiling will be scheduled later this week.
Limited to just 101 units, the V12 Vantage Roadster is just dripping in style and class.
Exposing the driver to the elements, the V12 Vantage Roadster will no doubt deliver an even more visceral experience at any speed as no permanently closed cabin will stand in the way, isolating the driver from the ferocious noise emitted from the burly DBS-based V12 engine.
To properly package the V12 Vantage Roadster, Aston Martin needed to slightly re-engineer the package to retain its rigidity. Extra weight from the folding mechanisms also called for a revised suspension setting to better settle the car. Other unique design features include a set of carbon fiber side strakes, carbon fiber mirror caps, blacked-out taillight surrounds, and black exhaust pipes. A carbon interior pack continues the exterior theme inside.
Enjoy the inital set of released V12 Vantage Roadster images below. Look for its official reveal sometime later this week.
