A Pennsylvania resident was caught on camera having sexual relations with a dog, causing him to be arrested on Friday for animal cruelty, one of the many people who have been handed animal cruelty charges in the state for the past week.

Andrew Lengle, a 38-year-old resident of Minersville, Pennsylvania, had been tasked by a mother to babysit her child while she is at work on June 23. However, she said that when she checked her surveillance camera in the living room, she saw Lengle engaging in sexual intercourse with a dog instead of babysitting her child, according to WBRE.

Lengle did not know about the camera in the room, and when he was confronted about this by authorities when they got to the house, he claimed that he “[didn’t] know what [he] was doing” with what’s been described as a distressed look on his face.

Lengle has been charged with animal cruelty and sexual intercourse with animals, though it is unclear if he has been taken to prison for his crimes.

He has not been the only person in Pennsylvania to face a high-profile animal cruelty charge over the week: 66-year-old Harold Kenderdine from Genesee, Pennsylvania was also charged on Tuesday for animal cruelty and sexual intercourse with an animal when he reportedly attempted to have sex with a cat at “a location on Dogtown Road,” Penn Live Patriot-News reported.

On that same Tuesday, a Pennsylvania State Police trooper was also charged with animal cruelty for ramming a patrol car into a horse several times on Dec. 28, 2021 when authorities were attempting to capture the animal, NBC 10 reported.

The horse had to be euthanized, and the damage to the patrol car reportedly racked up to US$9,000. The State Police trooper, identified as 51-year-old Corporal Michael Perillo, was charged with animal cruelty and aggravated torture of an animal, among other raps.

“The horse that was loose on US-1 last December suffered a tortured death at the hands of Cpl Michael Perillo,” Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said in a statement. “Inflicting such pain on an innocent animal is unthinkable and inexcusable. No one is above the law, and my office will hold the defendant accountable for his actions.”
