A waitress who accidentally spilled hot gravy on the groom's mother was thanked and tipped by the bride instead of being yelled at.

TikTok user Chloe, who goes by the username @chloe_beeee, shared the mortifying experience where she thought she ruined the couple’s most memorable day. However, the bride’s response baffled her, the woman said.

Chloe shared the moments when she worked at a silver service and was "too clumsy" and dropped gravy on the groom’s mother.

"It was the only wedding I ever served and I accidentally spilled a whole boat of gravy onto the lap of the mother-in-law of the bride," Chloe said.

She was a little relieved as the gravy did not burn the woman. However, the white outfit was completely spoiled and the woman had to change it, she said.

"It was hot and it was everywhere and it didn't burn her, thank God. She had to go and get changed at home, so she had to actually drive and go and get changed, luckily they were all local," she continued.

Chloe said she was in tears because she worried that she had spoilt the couple's big day. But the bride’s response was not what she expected.

Instead of being agitated over the incident, the bride instead thanked her and also tipped her, Chloe said.

"The bride came over to me and shook my hand and she thanked me. She said my mother-in-law should not have been wearing white to my wedding day and then she gave me a £55 tip and if I see her in town now we still say hi," Chloe added.

Chloe’s Tik Tok video has gone viral and received more than 100k likes. Netizens have been praising Chloe for saving the couples’ big day.

A user commented under the video, "Are you sure the £55 tip came after the accident and not before?"

Another wrote, "Not all heroes wear capes, some carry gravy boats."

"She probably tells everyone about the person who saved her on her wedding day," a third user added.

"My mother-in-law told me she was wearing white to our wedding. Rather than give her the argument she wanted I wore a black gown instead," another user commented.
