So, what's making gamers flood stores to get their hands on the new game?
The New York Daily News, said Black Ops II is Call of Duty's finest game so far, offers a solid new direction for the franchise, does a nice job showing us the future of war and shows us the future of Call of Duty.
According to an IGN reviewer, the game's publisher pushed the envelope and moved the Call of Duty series in a new direction, making one of the best shooters of the last decade.
"It'll be hard to return to a campaign where I don't have the ability to shape it, and I simply can't imagine going back to the old loadout system now that Pick 10 exists," the reviewer wrote.
Game Trailers said Black Ops II is the "most evolved sequel" they have played in recent memory because it challenged the status quo.
"It does so many new things so very well, making it the most groundbreaking Call of Duty since the first Modern Warfare," the reviewer wrote. "Shooters simply don't get much more deep, varied, surprising, or rewarding than this."
Game Spot said although the zombies mode is stagnant and the new codcasting tool is hamstrung, Black Ops II is lively and offers a great shooter experience.
