After CNN mulled the possibility of relaunching "Crossfire", Politico reported that Ted Turner's news station has found two very realistic candidates to fill the shoes of most recently Tucker Carlson and James Carville.

Former Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich and President Obama's deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter are being looked at as possible co-hosts for "Crossfire", if CNN does go through with the reboot.

Jeff Zucker, the new CNN president who has come over from NBC News, was said to be the executive with the initial idea to bring back "Crossfire". The program has listed some big names in the political universe during its former 23-year run. Beginning with Tom Braden "On the Left" and Patrick J. Buchanan "On The Right", names such as Geraldine Ferraro, liberal commentator Bill Press, Bob Beckel, now part of FOX's "The Five", and Carville have been major players "On the Left".

Buchanan, a former presidential contender, journalist Robert Novak, late FOX anchor and Bush cabinet member Tony Snow as well as Second Wife Lynne Cheney and Carville's wife Mary Matalin have all had a chance to battle "On the Right".
