Colombian President Gustavo Petro again slammed U.S. counterpart Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler, saying he has "unleashed an ethnic war" in the U.S.
"He is doing to Latin Americans the same thing Hitler did to Jews," Petro said in a social media publication in which he posted a news report about ICE raids in Chicago.

Petro repeatedly criticizes Trump on a number of issues, which also include his administration's support of Israel and attacks against vessels officials claim seek to traffic drugs into the country from Venezuela.
Regarding the first issue, Petro on Sunday called on Trump to "have the U.S: army join the Colombian one and others around the world to free Palestine," as he ramps up calls for a military intervention on Israel.
Petro has been calling for a military intervention against Israel over the past days, including on the days after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voiced his support for Trump's peace plan and as delegations head to Egypt to continue negotiations.
He has fiercely criticized Israel, repeatedly calling its actions a genocide. He also said said he is willing to go to "the battlefield" to fight Israel in Gaza after proposing the conformation of an international force to intervene in the conflict.
As for the latter, Petro on Saturday slammed U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Over the country's latest strike.
In a social media publication, Petro responded to Hegseth's announcement of the strike, in which he claimed the U.S. had directed a "lethal, kinetic strike on a narco-trafficking vessel."
"No, Mr. War Secretary, the young men who are on those boats are not narco-terrorists, they are poor young men from the Caribbean islands trying to survive. By bombing them with missiles like in Gaza, you are murdering the Caribbean people," Petro said.
He went on to claim that what the Trump administration really wants is "Venezuela and Guyana's oil, that's it."
"The use of anti-economic and murderous missiles has another goal. You want to harass us to get the oil for free," Petro added.
