We know the standard 2014 Corvette Stingray produces 455 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. We know the output is bumped to 460 hp with a performance exhaust. We also know that Chevrolet claims the new 'C7' is capable of accelerating from 0-to-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. But how fast is the standard 2014 Corvette Stingray in the real world?
Hennessey Performance Engineering took a customer-owned production 2014 'C7' Corvette Stingray down to Lonestar Motorsports Park near Houston, Texas, for a proper 1/4 mile run on the drag strip. The automatic-transmission Stingray posted a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.15 seconds on its way to an impressive 12.23-second quarter-mile. The 'C7' travelled at an indicated 114.88 mph at the speed trap. According to HPE, the density altitude of Lonestar Motorsports Park was 2742 ft when this car ran down the track.
