Cuban actor William Levy is currently in Spain promoting his new film Bajo un Volcán, but he's making headlines for more than just the movie. During his press tour, Levy has been surprisingly candid—talking not only about the production but also opening up about his personal life, including his recent arrest and an eerie paranormal experience that left even the audience stunned.
Appearing on the hit Spanish variety show El Hormiguero, Levy spoke openly about being ready for love and shared how his children reacted to his unexpected arrest in Miami. But it was a spooky story from the film set in Tenerife that truly caught everyone off guard.
"It was around three in the morning," Levy said. "I was waiting for my turn to shoot. The makeup artists and a few others were with me. I looked up and saw what I thought was a star—but it started glowing brighter and brighter. Then it started moving from side to side. It was really strange."
The next night, things got even weirder.
"We went up to a lookout point on Mount Teide and lay back to watch the sky. And the same thing happened. Everyone saw it," he continued. "They started joking that someone—or something—was watching us. So I said, 'If it's real, send us a signal.' That's when a production radio, which hadn't been working at all, suddenly started beeping. I swear on my life, I still don't know what that was."
Levy doubled down on the story, insisting, "It's true—I swear on my life, and on my kids'. I have no idea what it was, but it shook me."

Arrest and love
But Levy also gave details about another type of experience: what he experienced in jail in Miami upon his return from Spain.
"It wasn't really anything serious, as has been speculated. A friend and I were having a drink, and when it was time to pay the bill, he realized he'd been overcharged. And he started arguing with another person at the bar about it. I got in the way to prevent the situation from escalating. Then the police arrived, and the way they told us to leave was out of place. I told them it wasn't like that either, that we should talk like fathers, like men. And then they arrested me because they wanted to. They took me away, but it's okay, it's just another life experience," he said.
"Now I'm part of the club of actors who have problems with the police," he said jokingly, recounting his night behind bars: "I made new friends there. And something funny happened to me. They took us to the cell, obviously I didn't sleep, and when they took us to breakfast, there was a young man who didn't speak English or Spanish very well, and he told me he would give me two cookies for my sandwich. I thought it was a hidden camera. I gave him the sandwich and was left wondering where he had gotten the cookies."
Levy also reflected on love. Although he indicated he's looking for a new partner after his separation from Elizabeth Gutiérrez, he said he's filled with love "everywhere," not only from his children and family, but also from his fans.
"It's a very beautiful thing for which I'm very grateful. There are people who lack love, and being able to receive love from people who don't even know me is a blessing," she said.
