HBO has announced that the hit comedy series "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is returning for a ninth season. This news comes less than a week after J.B. Smoove, who plays Leon Black in the series, discussed the possibility of Season 9 and said creator Larry David seems like he is more than ready to come back, EW reported.

In a interview on "The Rich Eisen Show," Smoove admitted that he talks to Larry quite often and the last time the two had a conversation Larry was the one who actually brought up "Curb" and said "You know, I'm thinking about coming back." Check out the interview below.

We do not know what has changed in the "Seinfeld" creator, but whatever it is we are happy to have him return for an all-new season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm." As is HBO programming president Casey Bloys, who said in a statement, "We're thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of 'Curb' and can't wait to see what he has planned."

While it has been several years since Season 8 aired in 2011, series star David has always had a deal with HBO to continue "Curb" on his schedule if he ever wanted to return for more. That said, this is the longest gap there's been between seasons.

With regard to coming back for a ninth season, David said, "In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, 'I left, I did nothing, I returned,'" Screen Rant reported.

Previously, it appeared as though "Curb" would never return, with David making Season 9 sound like a long shot. In an interview with Howard Stern a few years ago, David put odds against making a new "Curb" season saying, The odds would be against it, probably 6 to 1."

Furthermore, series star Jeff Garlin (who plays Jeff Greene) said he thought there was a 51 percent chance of the show returning but now it looks as if those odds are getting higher.
