Diane Guerrero is not only starring in two of the hottest series of the moment, “Orange is the New Black” and “Jane the Virgin,” but she’s also working hard to promote the Latino vote as well as immigrations reforms, and fighting unfair deportations, which separate families like her own. The gorgeous actress spoke to Cosmo for Latinas about her beauty (and attitude) secrets, to pick herself up and give herself a confidence boost whenever she needs it. When asked what gives her instant confidence, Guerrero didn’t hesitate in responding, “Mascara for sure.”
Guerrero says her mom has always advised her to drink lots of water so her body and skin stay hydrated, and sometimes she even recommends scrubbing her body with Himalayan salt, but also says there’s a little ‘brujería’ in that, to eliminate ‘los males.’ The actress says her beauty inspiration is no doubt JLo, who always manages to look like she just got out of the shower and has no makeup on. “I don't know how she stays looking so fresh,” said Guerrero.
The actress also stated that the key to doing anything is to go “all in.” “I think many times where people fail is they start something and when they see how hard it is, they switch to something else,” she explained. That is why Guerrero has no intentions of quitting the business any time soon. Also, whenever she feels sad, she says she thinks of a saying in Spanish that says, “Everything in this life can be fixed except death,” (Todo se arregla en la vida menos la muerte).
