Multiple crew members from ABC's "Doctor Odyssey" are suing 20th Century and Disney, alleging they were subjected to "unwanted touching, sexual gestures and images" by an assistant prop master.
In a suit filed Friday, Caroline Mack, Alicia Haverland and Ava Steinbrenner claimed Tyler Patton subjected them to "sexual jokes, innuendos, comments, sexual gestures and images" as well as "unwanted touching," which included "openly grabbing a visiting female employee's buttocks." The suit alleged the incidences occurred "daily and frequently in the presence of management."
Patton, who is married to prop department head Tammie Patton, allegedly retaliated after being confronted about his behavior, saying, "If I wasn't f****** the boss, I'd be fired," according to the lawsuit.
The 58-year-old assistant prop master was also previously named in a 2010 lawsuit against Universal Network Television involving allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation on the set of Fox medical drama series "House." In that complaint, Carl Jones claimed Patton groped his genitals and made sexual advances toward female colleagues, Variety reported. The suit alleged Tammie and Disney hired Patton despite having "knowledge that prior allegations of sexual harassment had been lodged" against him.
Although Patton was fired after the plaintiffs reported his behavior to HR, the lawsuit claimed his wife began retaliating by allegedly threatening their jobs. The entire props department was later laid off, but Disney "almost immediately hired a whole new set of employees," according to the suit. The trio argued Disney "wiped the Prop Department's slate clean" to avoid addressing ongoing issues concerning Patton.
The plaintiffs also alleged they were "blacklisted" by Disney "in retaliation for bringing forward their good-faith complaints."
Disney has not yet responded to a request for a comment, according to Variety.
