Dragon Ball Z
A new "Dragon Ball" series has been revealed. dragonball.wikia

Geez, thanks for nothing, Goku! Fans of the iconic "Dragon Ball Z" anime remember the legendary Saiyan as the savior of mankind who defeated incredible foes like Piccolo, Frieza, the Androids, Cell, and Buu. However, if we really stopped to think about it, is Goku truly the hero of Earth or is he the very reason our planet was invaded so many times in the first place? Check out this awesome new "Dragon Ball Z" fan theory:

The notion that Goku is the root of every bad thing that ever happened on our planet comes from a fan theory proposed by Redditor ConstantCompile. The Reddit user suggested: "In Dragonball [Z], Earth would have dominated the galaxy and possibly the universe, including all planes of existence, within 50 years if Goku hadn't showed up."

"Consider: In one corner, we have the Red Ribbon Army. More specifically, we have Dr. Gero - a scientist of unfathomable genius able to create bipedal nexuses of near-infinite power. In the opposite corner, we have Capsule Corporation. More specifically, we have Dr. Brief and Bulma - individuals of such absurd intellect that their first commercial product turns conservation of mass on its head. After discovering an alien spacecraft, they are able to improve upon its design (including FTL travel and gravity control!) within a couple of decades, if not less.

"These brilliant minds existing at the same time, on the same planet, gives us everything we need for galactic conquest to be inevitable. First, let's consider the less interesting scenario - they go to war with each other.

"Capsule Corp. wins, obviously."

According to ConstantCompile, in a world without Goku, Bulma could have become the strongest woman in the known universe. When Bulma invented the time machine, she could have easily traveled back in time to confront the younger version of herself and devise a plan to leapfrog any and every technological advancement to come from the Red Ribbon Army.

Also, ConstantCompile contests the possibilities of Bulma inheriting Dr. Gero's Cyborg 18 technology. If Bulma's superior intellect is combined with Cyborg 18's power, the acquisition of Dragon Balls would barely be an inconvenience. Bulma will become an unmatched genius that is more powerful than a Super Saiyan. Her time machine will give her the ability to bend space/time and gravity.

At this point, nothing in the Dragonball [Z] universe holds a candle to Bulma anymore. She is the singularity. Any problem she encounters can be solved with a combination of self-augmentation and technological engineering.

And if she were, somehow, to encounter a problem she could not solve, she can always build another time machine and either give herself all of eternity to develop the means to solve it, or prevent it from ever becoming a problem in the first place.

Every galaxy, every afterlife, EVERYTHING now falls under Bulma. She is the all-knowing, all-powerful focal point around which all of existence revolves.

Instead, ConstantCompile argues, Goku was essentially "Space Jesus" from the very moment the world witnessed Goku come back from the dead to defeat Frieza. This event rendered Bulma into a passive state as merely a groupie within Goku's posse. Incredible inventions like the time machine were used so that Trunks could save the world. Had Goku's battles never happened, Bulma could have used the time machine to fulfill her potential instead.

Despite the rather silly premise that Goku is the bringer of all chaos to Planet Earth, and to Bulma's life, it does propose an interesting concept: What if there was a Dragon Ball spin-off dedicated to a parallel universe where Bulma's intelligence propelled her and Capsule Corp. to become the most powerful entity in the universe?

Do you think Goku held Bulma back? Would Bulma had been capable of bigger and greater things had Goku not distracted her with battles that threatened the existence of every living thing on Planet Earth?
