"Elena of Avalor" is making her way to the Disney Channel and we're stoked!

Disney's first-ever Latina princess, Elena, and all of her friends are just around the corner. But first, here is a look at the animated show's opening intro featuring Guatemalan singer Gaby Moreno. Billboard announced the exclusive Wednesday, revealing how the Latin Grammy winner was chosen to interpret the theme song.

“She’s taking these traditional styles and blending them with new styles,” said Craig Gerber, "Elena of Avalor's" creator, executive producer and lyricist to Latin Billboard. “That’s what we wanted to do for the show," he noted, admitting that he's listened to Moreno's music many times while working on the series.

The brand new series, expected to air July 22, tells the story of Princess Elena, a bold, caring, funny and clever 16-year-old who is ascendant to the throne in the fairytale kingdom of Avalor. Young actress Aimee Carrero is the voice of Elena, a brave and adventurous teenager who saves her kingdom from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as crown princess until she is old enough to be queen.
