Several countries are now slowly ending coronavirus lockdown by lifting off a few restrictions in a phased manner. The countries have taken their respective decision after battling the COVID-19 peak and recording a subsequent continuous decrease or stability in the number of new coronavirus cases.

Around the globe, countries are trying different experimental ways to open up their economies, which have come to a standstill ever since the COVID-19 outbreak was first reported. Adopting innovative ways to end coronavirus lockdown measures is a way for them to know what is the best way to return to the “new normal.”

So far, there is no consensus on what is right and what is wrong when it comes to ending coronavirus lockdown. But the following are some of the key strategies adopted by a few countries that are being regarded worldwide as an innovative method to restore the worldwide economy.

Phased Approach To Ending Coronavirus Lockdown

This is one of the most popular ways by which countries are trying to return to normal – by easing lockdown in phase. Of all the countries currently adopting the approach, Italy is one of the hardest-hit countries by the COVID-19 pandemic.

No one known how coronavirus transmission rate will change once the lockdown measured are eased and this is where phased control over the movement of people and opening of businesses comes into the picture. No dramatic changes in coronavirus transmission rate after Phase I of lockdown ease implementation probably means that the country is ready for Phase II of putting an end to coronavirus lockdown.

Mobile Apps To Track, Trace and Test Coronavirus Suspects

Several countries have come up with coronavirus tracking apps that help trace and track the location and movement of coronavirus suspects and alert healthy individuals when they are in close proximity to suspects or those affected with COVID-19.

Different versions of tracking technology are being used in countries such as Israel, the UK, Italy, France, South Korea and India.

Mask Vending Machines

To avoid crowd outside pharmacies to purchase face masks after the lockdown ends, a few countries have set up mask vending machines. Poland, Germany and Taiwan are the first ones to have come up with pop-up mask vending machines in the cities to avid the burden on pharmacies while ensuring that people keep themselves safe from coronavirus infection.

Expanding “Social Bubbles”

Many countries are not allowing or planning to allow its nationals to expand their “ social bubble ” by allowing them to meet a limited number of their close family members and relatives as a part of relaxation in lockdown measures.

New Zealand is one of the first countries to have implemented that by allowing people to contact their close family members and caregivers as long as they live in the same city. The UK, Scotland and Belgium are planning along the same lines.
