Enrique Peña Nieto has officially replied to the ten questions posed to him by Alfonoso Cuarón on energy reforms. The secretaries of Finance and Energy, Luis Videgaray and Pedro Joaquín Coldwell announced earlier today that the responses would come in full and they have indeed kept their promise. All ten responses can be viewed here. Enrique Peña Nieto used the presidential website to publish the ten answers titled "Energy Reform: All Our Energy to Move Mexico."

Enrique Peña Nieto's responses to Alfonso Cuarón have been given in considerable depth. 1. In regards to the lowering of gas prices, the document revealed that "reductions in electricity bills and gas prices will come into effect a maximum of two years after the legislation passes." 2. In regards to the environmental effect, the document explained that "the best international practices will be adopted with the point of view of having full responsibility for any actions which involve exploration or exploitation."

3. According to Enrique Peña Nieto's response, "the secondary legislation includes a variety of measures to implement the use of clean energy and renewable energy." 4. The response has seven detailed protocols which will be implemented to fight corruption in the energy secotr. 5. Technical decisions and political decisions will be carried out seperately: both will be carried out with full transparency. 6. The Mexican government will take steps to ensure predatory tactics from large corporations are prevented.

7. "There will be total transparecy with regard to the resources received by public offices." 8. "The oil industry will continue to support the Mexican economy and its government." 9. Energy Reforms wil "absolutley eliminate the possibility that utilities or resources will be funnelled for beurocratic expansion." 10. "In the spirit of opennes and to create the best conditions for homes and Mexican businesses, it is intended that both companies (PEMEX and CFE) will be in competition."
